At Camden Public School, we have a number of students who have an allergic condition
known as anaphylaxis. Anaphylaxis is a severe, potentially life threatening allergic reaction
to certain foods. The reaction can be caused by eating, touching or smelling these foods.
A common allergen for anaphylaxis is food such as shellfish or foods that contains nuts,
including peanuts and tree nuts (for example hazelnuts). In view of this very serious
condition, we are asking you to support our efforts to care for affected students by
choosing safe food items and spreads when making your child's lunch and recess. We ask
that NO shellfish or peanut butter, peanut biscuits, cakes with peanuts, peanut
butter cracker dips or Nutella be brought into Camden Public School.
